Position: Mental Health Counselor

We’re currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team.

As a Mental Health Counselor at Therapeutic Self Care, you will:

• Provide Outpatient services at our Galloway and Toms River locations. (LAC and LPC)

• Provide Intensive In Community Services to our community. (LAC Mandatory and LPC Optional)

• Building a therapeutic relationship with clients of all ages and diverse backgrounds, from children to adults.

• Teach clients and families actionable techniques to improve daily routines, reduce negative symptoms and enhance self-care practices.

• Collaborate with clients and, when applicable, their families or support systems to establish goals and measure progress.

• Stay informed on innovative therapeutic approaches through regular supervision and monthly staff meetings.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and summaries, in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.

What We’re Looking For

• Preferred: Spanish-speaking candidates (not required).

• Active NJ licensure in good standing (e.g., LAC, LPC)

• Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance.

• Valid driver’s license and up-to-date car insurance (if providing in-home or community-based services).

• Individual malpractice insurance.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

• Three professional references.
